Every home has a story; often it can be a multitude of short stories, but collectively those stories make your house a home. Kids have played in the yard, Mum and Dad have agonised over design choices, jobs have changed, and memories have been shared. When you are selling, be careful not to strip your home of all of those stories.
We always tell our sellers that we are not selling cars we are selling a home, and to quote my favourite movie “it is Your Castle”.
Yes, it is important to present it in the right way, but you don’t have to take everything that is personal out. Sometimes letting people know it is a home where stories have been created over the years is perfectly OK!
And don’t forget to share your favourite stories and things you have loved about your home with your selling Agent! These can be passed on in various conversations, especially if we hear an objection that might be overcome by telling one of your stories!
